The ⱱіoɩeпt сɩаѕһ: Two Giant Hippos Engage in a Ьɩoodу Ьаttɩe for Territory, Unveiling the Ьгᴜtаɩ Realities of Wildlife domіпапсe

A pair of giant hippos engage in a bloody battle for territory.

The bloody fight happened when two animals fought each other over territory in the Okavango wildlife reserve in Botswana.

The pair of hippos, each weighing up to 3,600 kg, used their fangs to tear each other’s mouths in a fight that lasted about an hour. Finally, the smaller hippo accepted defeat and left.

British wildlife photographer Laura Dyer, 33 years old, was lucky enough to witness and record the fierce fight between two hippos.

“I have never seen a fight like this before,” photographer Dyer wrote on Instagram. “Because they rarely leave the water.”

Although hippos do not look ferocious, they are responsible for 500 deaths each year, much higher than lions, tigers or bears. They can swim at speeds similar to humans.
