Embracing Imperfection: Picasso and Newt, Two Dogs with Facial Deformities, Discover Joy in Companionship at a Sanctuary .QN

Liesl Wilhardt, founder and director of Luvable Dog Rescue, has shared heartwarming images of her two dogs, Picasso and Newt, who have facial deformities but have formed an inseparable bond. These two furry friends were adopted by the same family five years apart and now live together on a vast 55-acre property in Eugene, Oregon.

Through a series of videos, Liesl showed her daily life, describing her adventures feeding, playing, walking and even picking berries. Picasso, with his unique appearance due to his crooked jaw, miraculously survived infancy despite the difficulties his mother had in breastfeeding him. Newt, with his missing upper jaw, has faced a number of challenges, but none of the dogs seem to be hampered by his physical abnormalities. Both Picasso and Newt are sociable and enjoy interacting with people in public.

Liesl’s compassionate nature extends to all disabled creatures, as her sanctuary is home to not only dogs but also cats, chickens, and pigs, including the famous pig named Picasso. His dedication to animals is evident in the care he provides, which includes covering the costs of surgeries and amputations when necessary. She has hired a team of people to help care for the animals full-time, and volunteers come regularly to help on walks, socialize and interact with the animals.

Picasso, with his exceptional temperament, has become an integral part of Liesl’s rescue program, where he helps people with disabilities or illnesses. His popularity has even earned him his own Instagram account with a large number of followers. The bond between Picasso and Newt has deepened over time and both dogs have adapted well to their physical challenges, thriving in the loving environment provided by Liesl and her rescue organization.

Thanks to Liesl’s dedication and love for animals, she has not only rescued and cared for numerous furry friends, but has also brought joy and inspiration to countless people through the heartwarming stories of Picasso and Newt’s friendship.
