Exciting Discovery: Argentina Unveils 83-86 Million-Year-Old Ornithopod Fossil Find

The announcement said that this ornithopod fossil bone named Mahuidarcursor is currently on display at the Alberdi Cultural Center of Neuquen province. Mahuidarcursor is medium-sized, about 6 m long, not fully grown and lived 83 to 86 million years ago. The fossil of the ornithopod above will be added to the paleontological collection of the Rincon de los Sauces district museum, Neuquen province.

һeаd of the Mahuidarcursor research team, Mr. Cruzado Caballero, said that although scientists have found many dinosaur foѕѕіɩѕ in Neuquen, this is the first ѕрeсіeѕ discovered in the Neuquen river basin.

Ornithopoda is a group of bipedal, herbivorous dinosaurs belonging to the order Ornithischia. They lived between the Lower Jurassic period (which began about 200 million years ago) and the Cretaceous period (about 65 million years ago) on six major continents of the world.
